Terms of Service
Welcome to Vicini. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and AJP Studios LLC ("Vicini," "we," "us") governing your use of the Vicini mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Vicini. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
2. Your account
You're responsible for your account and for keeping access to your sign-in email secure. Provide accurate information and don't impersonate anyone. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab or by emailing support@vicini.app.
3. Community rules (zero tolerance)
Vicini is for neighbors. You agree not to post or send content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, deceptive, illegal, or that invades others' privacy (including sharing someone's address, license plate, or photos without their consent). You agree not to spam, scam, or misuse safety categories to spread panic or misinformation. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users: content that breaks these rules is removed, typically within 24 hours of a report, and repeat or serious offenders lose their accounts. The in-app Community Guidelines form part of these Terms.
4. Your content
You own what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your content solely to operate and improve the Service. You're responsible for what you post; don't post content you don't have the right to share.
5. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
Every post, comment, and user can be reported in the app, and you can block any user. We may remove content or restrict accounts at our discretion to keep the Service safe, and we review reports promptly (typically within 24 hours).
6. Location features
Vicini shows content based on an approximate home area you choose. Distances shown are approximate. You are responsible for what location detail you choose to share in your posts, notes, and messages. Meet neighbors sensibly: Vicini does not vet users, and in-person interactions are at your own risk.
7. The Service
The Service is provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and may suspend or terminate the Service or your access to it (including for violations of these Terms). Porch lights, posts, and other content may expire or be removed as described in the app.
7a. Subscriptions (Vicini+)
The core app is free. An optional auto-renewing subscription, Vicini+ ($2.99/month, or $19.99/year, each with a one month free trial), unlocks porch lights that stay on for up to 12 hours instead of 4, a supporter mark next to your name, and early access to new Plus features.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in your App Store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple, not us. To request a refund, use Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If a subscription lapses, porch lights return to the free 4 hour maximum and the supporter mark is removed. Nothing you posted is deleted, and Plus unlocks again on resubscribing.
- Prices may change for new billing periods; you always see the price before you are charged, and a change never applies without the notice Apple requires.
8. Acceptable use
Don't interfere with or disrupt the Service, attempt to access data that isn't yours, scrape the Service, reverse engineer the app, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT (INCLUDING SAFETY POSTS) IS ACCURATE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AJP STUDIOS LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING INTERACTIONS OR MEETINGS WITH OTHER USERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AJP Studios LLC from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the app where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, except where prohibited by law.
